OUR TECHNOLOGY
SFC Therapeutic Classification System™
Frustrated trying to interpret therapeutic breakdowns with categories such as "spasmolytic respirators", "antihyperlipidemics" and "adrenals" in your current renewal reports? Trying to understand exactly which products you are paying for as "UNCLASSIFIED THERAPEUTIC AGENTS" that continually rank in your top three categories?
We understand. Cubic Health recognized the need in the marketplace for a drug classification system with a meaningful, disease-state approach that can be understood and utilized by all of the stakeholders in the provision of prescription drug benefit plans. Our team of pharmacists developed a novel system to classify every product on the Canadian market that has been allocated a Drug Identification Number (DIN) or Product Identification Number (PIN).
Our SFC Therapeutic Classification System™ has a three-tiered structure. The first tier, the System allocation, provides a useful overview of the general physical area being considered (e.g. Mental Illness). The second tier, the Function allocation, provides a more detailed breakdown of the specific disease states the medications and products are used to treat (e.g. Depression, Anxiety Disorder, etc.). The third tier, the Class allocation, classifies each product according to its pharmacological class (e.g. SSRIs).
The SFC Therapeutic Classification System™ provides the health benefits sector with an extremely powerful tool for the analysis and management of prescription drug plans. It facilitates understanding of the key drivers of plan costs, prevalence of key disease states, and the ability to measure the impact of plan changes and health and productivity initiatives on key disease states and drug classes.
