Cubic Health Study on Mental Illness in the Workplace Released by the Roundtable
In early November, the Global Business and Economic Roundtable on Addiction and Mental Health (Roundtable) released a study completed by Cubic Health entitled, Assessing Mental Illness in the Workplace Using Drug Claims Data, Phase I: General Context and Co-Morbidities with Depression. The analysis probed over 2.5 million prescription drug claims made by 120,000 Canadian employees and their families in each of 2004 and 2005. In total, these claims represented $118 million worth of drug claims spanning the retail, manufacturing, services, public administration, construction and transportation sectors over the two years.

Building the Business Case at the Face-to-Face Drug Forum
In late November, Cubic Health President, Mike Sullivan, delivered one of the keynote presentations at the annual Face-to-Face Drug Forum presented by Working Well magazine and Rogers Media Publishing. The focus of the talk was on building the business case for an investment in benefit design change as a means of ensuring both short- and long-term responsible cost containment, and plan optimization.
