May/June 2011 – Carpe Diem: Savings with Generics, and Drug Plans or Dealer Supply Chains

FROM THE TEAM

Spring is (finally) in the Air…

…and the team at Cubic Health has been busy embracing the energy, growth, and revitalization that is symbolic with the season.

First off, we are pleased to announce the launch of our new website at www.cubichealth.ca . Through our eight years in the analytics and drug plan management business, we have developed a profound appreciation and understanding of the “information overload” many of you face on a daily basis. Thus, we have sought to bring clarity and conciseness in the new website design, the provision of important information in a timely manner through the constantly updated “Latest News” feature, and ease of accessibility to the Cubic Health team with directly links to us by email, various social media outlets, and of course, the good old fashioned telephone. We encourage you all to have a look at your convenience.

Secondly, Cubic Health attended its seventh consecutive Annual Meeting & Showcase for the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) in Minneapolis in April. Consistently a leading-edge and insightful conference, this year’s event was no exception. Industry experts from across the United States and abroad delivered sessions covering all of the hot topics in the world of drug plan management, from emerging issues and trends in managed care pharmacy to a detailed look at the pharmaceutical pipeline for both traditional and specialty therapies to generics and biosimilars to new benefit plan designs to increasing demands for comparative effectiveness research that facilitates value-based coverage decisions for plan sponsors.

Thirdly, on the philanthropic front, Cubic Health has been active this spring – literally. On April 2, the entire team completed the 2011 Harry’s Spring Run Off 8km in Toronto, supporting the effort to fight Prostate Cancer. Cubic Health is also a proud sponsor and supporter of our Senior Vice President, Chris von Heymann, in his campaign and participation in the 2011 Ride to Conquer Cancer. On June 11 and 12, Chris will be biking 200km from Toronto to Niagara Falls to raise funds for The Princess Margaret Hospital. Should you wish to contribute to his campaign and The Princess Margaret’s commitment to Conquer Cancer in Our Lifetime, please go to: www.conquercancer.ca/goto/chris.vonheymann .

We welcome any feedback you have on our Cubic Health Monthly. You can reach us anytime at info@cubichealth.ca or on Twitter @cubichealth.

Sincerely,
Cubic Health Team
